The founding team — Chris Aberger, Ines Chami, and Sen Wu — met during their PhDs in AI and Data Systems under the mentorship of co-founder Chris Re in the Stanford AI lab where they coined the term “foundation model”.
Our founders authored the first paper applying AI to data problems, and the convergence of their paths led to the birth of Numbers Station and the collective vision of leveraging AI to redefine data systems.
